Sneak Peek, Donald J Pliner & Melissa Event

The best thing about shoes and handbags, no matter where you are on the scale this week, they always fit. Lucky for us all, we are selling both tomorrow on ideeli.

Donald J Pliner who made a name for himself selling shoes, also creates stylish and well crafted handbags.  Our favorite item in the Pliner sale is the Aamu Satchel. The panther print suede is unexpected in a sea of zebra prints this season and the patent crocodile trim adds a luxurious contrast.  This bag also has a zip top closure (as every bag should) with removable logo charms.  Fun yet ladylike. Original price: $610, ideeli price $298.

Melissa Shoes are back on ideeli by popular demand. The Brazilian brand has proved that plastic is fantastic with their wide range of innovative shoes designs. Every pair of shoes made by the label is manufactured out of a patented Meflexo material that is thermo-malleable, flexible, and soft to the touch unlike those jellies you use to wear in grade school.  Our pick from tomorrow's sale are the lace up jazz shoes.  Original price: $99, ideeli price: $35.

Vivienne Westwood Jelly

As we reported back in January, the infamous Jelly Shoe is back.  What’s our issue with this warm weather shoe trend? Most Jellies are made from dangerous PVC. But we finally found an eco friendly alternative.

These sweet and modern Three Strap Sandals by Vivienne Westwood and Melissa, an eco-friendly manufacturer are ethically made in Brazil from MEFLEX and are…Ta dah! 100% recyclable.

MEFLEX is a non-toxic plastic made from recycled plastic that is far more breathable than PVC.  The Melissa shoe factory is itself a paragon of eco-friendly virtue when it comes to production. A startling 99.9% of Melissa’s factory water and waste is recycled and the Brazil-based company’s employees are paid above average wages and benefits.  Since these shoes are so eco friendly I think I will splurge and get the red flat peep toe jellies too!
