London: Elle Style Awards 2009

In case you missed it, and many of us did,  Elle hosted their Style Awards in London last night.  Courtney Love's attendance and nomination was our number one head scratcher. Even more shocking, Ms. Love was named Elle's Woman of the Year (!!!).  Trying to look "refreshed" and strongly resembling Madonna, we barely recognized her in the red carpet photo shown below (we decided to go with a kind photo- this was the best one we found).  A bit of sanity did kick in during the event when Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) won for Best Actress and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) won for Best Actor. Now can someone explain to us why Elle magazine loves Cracky? I mean Courtney?
