Pick of the Day: Black

Thumbing through designers' Resort lookbooks makes us want to jet off to an exotic vacation stat. Resort, that magical season between the Fall and Spring collections, is full of getaway-inspired pieces that translate the jetset vibe into any wardrobe—even if a jaunt to the tropics is slightly out of reach. This embroidered mini-dress from Black calls to mind vacations in the Mexican Riviera—preferably with an icy beverage in hand. The intricate gold embroidery (on either not-so-basic black or tan-flattering ivory) allows you to dress it up or down easily. Equally chic when paired with tights and high-heeled boots or with bare legs and sky-high sandals, this little number is right at home in any climate. Don't be surprised if this frock compels you to pack up for your next resort stay sooner than later. Get it here.

Pick of the Day: WALTER

The LWD, or Little White Dress, has become a modern classic thanks to the many designs it's inspired in recent seasons. While we've got a lot of love for its sister, the LBD (who doesn't?), we can't say we're not liking with idea of tossing out old fashion dictums and wearing crisp, cool white after Labor Day—especially when faced with charming rule-breakers like WALTER'S Strapless Texture Dress. Demure and sexy all at once, its simple lines, flattering sweetheart neckline, and playful ruffle, conspire to make it irresistible (not to mention the dark contrast piping that lends it a dose of dimension). Perfect alone or to layer under a jacket, we love it especially for those upcoming holiday soirées where easy sophistication is key. Get it here!

MBFW Pick of the Day: Tadashi Shoji

As an official sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, we’re celebrating our headlong plunge into this fabulous event with what we do best: amazing sales. And while our fashion team is off getting a first glimpse at the new collections, we’re bringing you some of our all-time favorite designer pieces—like this electric purple cocktail dress by Tadashi—the same day his runway show debuts.

Dominated by geometric patterns and futuristic shapes, Tadashi’s designs are true masterpieces. Though less flamboyant than the stage costumes he started out making in the ‘70s—Bill Whitten, the man responsible for Michael Jackson’s silver glove and Elton John’s feather gorilla suite, was his mentor—Shoji’s sculptural designs are still never lacking for flair. This sexily-draped, off-the-shoulder dress in a purple hue that jumps off the fabric is giving our trusty LBD a run for its money. It’s bold, flattering, and deceptively stretchy. Instead of drowning in a sea of black at your next cocktail party, opt for this bright hue and prepare to be the most standout woman in the room—no one will ever guess you’re also the most comfortable. Pick of the Day: Calvin Klein

Today is Calvin Klein Day on ideeli, and we got to thinking: it's hard to remember now, but there was once a B.C. era in fashion history—Before Calvin. Calvin Klein's philosophy of modern, sophisticated, pure, and often minimal designs has remained a staple of American fashion for over four decades. The clean lines and spare shapes of the brand’s designs revolutionized the way the world views fashion to include women's and men's sportswear, jeans, underwear, fragrance, accessories, and home products. Among the many covetables in today's sales, we're particularly taken with this belted dress and jacket combo. Classic, elegant, and hopelessly chic, it's a perfect example of what Klein does best: create timeless pieces that whisper "elegance" yet possess an alluring quality. As Brooke Shields famously said, nothing gets between us and our Calvins. Get it here!

Pick of the Day: Covet

Covet seems a most appropriate name for a label—especially when it offers up sweet little ditties like this silk-trimmed sheath. The sheath, a classic style that we never tire of, works well because it flatters so many different body types, from lean, gazelle-like profiles such as Blake Lively's to Mad Men's Christina Hendricks' textbook bombshell curves. It's streamlined yet body-hugging lines offer a perfect way to showcase, er, shall we say, your "feminine wiles," and it's one of the reasons we're digging this Covet number so much. In addition to a silhouette that serves as a graceful, timeless framework for the body, it's also got a little downtown edge with its abbreviated hemline, mod-ish high neck, and sophisticated taupe silk panel (which extends to the back and helps form a sexy keyhole closure). And let's not forget the lace: delicate, abundant, and just plain lovely. Doesn't matter if you're an Audrey or a Marilyn: you've got to be coveting this one just as much as we are. Get it here!
