There's color, and then there's Desigual. The Barcelona-based design house hasn't simply banished beige, it's embraced a no-holds-barred, more-is-more approach to color. And now, with the launch of its first-ever shoe collection for spring 2012, our feet can finally make a splash, too.
To celebrate the parade of pretty spring styles that will be hitting ideeli on Wednesday, 4/4, we’ve put together a primer on how to wear these colorful shoes — and we reached out to some of our fashionable blogger friends to help us out. The women behind The Budget Babe, Already Pretty, AfroBella, and Eye4Style each picked their favorite Desigual shoes from our sale (sneakers, heels, flats, wedges) and showed us how to make them pop without reverting to an all-neutral outfit. Here are the colorful results — click on the links below to learn more about what each blogger thought of her Desigual shoes!
The Budget Babe and her Desigual Flats
"I was inspired by the bright colors and fun print of the flats — perfect for spring! I decided to dress up your basic T-shirt and jeans with my Desigual flats and a vivid pink blazer, great for a casual work day or the weekend." —Dianna, The Budget Babe

AfroBella and her Desigual Sneakers
"Desigual shoes can give life to more understated ensembles, or be the exclamation point on an already-vibrant outfit. I rocked mine with skinny jeans, but they’d be equally cute with wide-leg jeans or a super-cute chambray dress!” —Patrice, AfroBella

Already Pretty and her Desigual Heels
"One way to tie printed shoes into an outfit is to repeat a graphic motif in multiple places. If the shoes feature stripes, try a striped top. If the shoes contain a floral element, do a floral scarf. Of course, too many prints will make for an overly busy ensemble. Don't go overboard — and be sure to include some complementary solids!" —Sally, Already Pretty

Eye4Style and her Desigual Wedges
"Here, a navy blouse acts as a neutral, while the lavender jeans pick up on the subtle hints of purple in the wedge. If color's not your thing, these can also act as the perfect foil to neutrals — try mixing in a cropped white skinny jean or a sweet eyelet skirt." —Dina, Eye4Style
