Chanel & Forever 21 Launch Magazines

Magazine publishers might be facing more competition for print readers.  Retailers are now getting into the glossy game. Today, Forever 21 launched their budget-conscious fashion, beauty, and lifestyle magazine. Their "book" is available in all Forever 21 locations and is free with a purchase of $40 or more. The magazine will also be available online starting Monday.

On a high end note, Chanel is capturing their brand's couture essence with their hot off the press mag, 31 Rue Cambon . Karl Lagerfeld developed the concept for the ongoing project and entrusted Olivier Zahm, editor of Purple magazine to handle art direction. Like Forever 21, this glossy is only available in Chanel stores  but we look forward to the day when we get flip through both mags while on the grocery store check out line.

Costco Sells Chanel & Vuitton

We refused to believe the rumors about the fashionable treasures on sale at Costco's new Manhattan location....UNTIL, a co-worker sent us the following quote from the New York Post:

"Costco's new Harlem location stocks products including giant flatscreen TVs, aisles chock full of nuts, Chanel handbags (yes, Chanel) and a wide variety of hummus and cheeses....The Post found plenty of small-living-space-appropriate surprises in-store. Like the massive wall of Ugg “Ultra” short boots ($124.99), the Chanel classic flap handbags ($1,999.99) and the classic Louis Vuitton “Speedy 30” mini-duffels ($589.99)"

Yowzha, we are renting a zip car this weekend, so we can drive uptown to see this magical retail store with our own two eyes.  Plus we need to stock up on TP.

Why do you love CHANEL? I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising, so Chanel has been a huge love of mine for years. To me it embodies all that is classic and chic. Not to mention the influence it has had on fashion for many years.

Tell us what designer(s) you want to see on ideeli: I would love to see Mui Mui handbags or Stella McCartney clothing. 

What is your favorite trend of the season? For Fall I'm really into anything studded; skirts, belts, shoes. There's nothing better than a great pair of studded booties to dress up an outfit! I'm also loving the boyfriend blazer. You can pretty much pair it with anything and instantly make your look timeless.

I concur! What is your must have item for Fall? A great headband is essential for fall for me. One with some decorations worn in a hippie-esque way is great for a bad hair day or dressing up a plain top! Also, a nice leather motorcycle jacket is probably one of my best investments. I'd be lost without it.

Chanel Photo Shoot with Karl & Claudia

Uber model Claudia Schiffer and designer Karl Lagerfeld were working on a shoot together for Chanel yesterday in Buenos Aires. Schiffer announced that she will discontinue her modeling career shortly so this may be her last gig for an international brand. Sigh....Karl shows no signs of ever slowing down.
