Sneak Peek, Barneys New York Windows

Barneys has a way of making New Yorkers feel warm and gooey inside during the holidays and this year is no different. The iconic retailer is wishing us "a witty holiday" for 2009 and Simon Doonan, Barney's awesomely wacky creative director,  drives home the point by celebrating 35 years of 'Saturday Night Live' in the flagship store's windows. The yule-tide windows will be officially unveiled on Monday, November 16th and includes figures of Saturday Night Live as Sarah Palin, Steve Martin as King Tut, Chris Kattan as "Mango", Amy Poehler's "Weekend Update," and lots more. Now if I could only find a Cone Head Christmas tree...

Barneys Rocks Vena Cava

Barneys New York has a Youtube channel called, Barneys Rocks.  They recently uploaded a behind-the-scenes- look at one of my favorite lines, Vena Cava. Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, the  two groovy chicks behind the line went into business in 2003, three short weeks after they graduated Parson School of Design. Vena Cava is currently based in Brooklyn. The video explains their obsession with triangles, the origin of their name, and striking fashion video. Enjoy.
