The reviews aren't all that sparkling, actually, but we're finding it hard to resist the idea of Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning rocking out—and flaming out—in decadent L.A. style. The film, based on the autobiography of the band's other star, the singer Cherie Currie, received Joan Jett's crucial stamp of approval (she served as producer), and as far as we can tell, it has the 70s bad-girl rock-chick look down cold. Light denim? Check. Oversized plastic shades? Check. Little, Liberty-print like florals? Check. At ideeli today and next week, we're also serving up some Runaways-appropriate gear, including this adorable light denim dress and floral shirt from our Lucca sale today and these amazing sunnies that will be in our Betsey Johnson sale next Wednesday.

We don't recommend a full-on Runaways revival, either style- or behavior-wise (we won't spoil the ending but, as you can probably imagine, Joan and Cherie didn't stray too far from their song, "Born To Be Bad"), but we love the idea of incorporating a little rock n' roll edge circa 1976 L.A. into the closet. This is where Tadashi comes in. Designer Tadashi Shoji's expert draping, flattering cuts and flair for the dramatic have earned him legions of fans over his long career. Today we're especially loving this one-shouldered dress, a major trend that's been spotted on everyone from Anne Hathaway to Carey Mulligan. Add in a beautifully neutral champagne color, another huge Spring must-have, and you've got a gown that is not only perfect for right now, but will also stand the test of time. Get it here!
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://blog.ideeli.com/todays-features/2010/3/18/pick-of-the-day-nooka.html"><rss:title>Pick of the Day, Nooka</rss:title><rss:link>http://blog.ideeli.com/todays-features/2010/3/18/pick-of-the-day-nooka.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Nooka Shop & Tell Watches ideeli pick of the day</dc:subject>
This may look like an instrument that NASA would find useful, but this, folks, is a watch. And not just any watch. This is a Nooka and it represents one giant leap forward for timekeeping. The brainchild of artist and designer Matthew Waldman, Nooka watches tell time not with numbers but with graphic, linear bars that indicate hours and minutes. It's a more intuitive way to mark the days going by and one that proved unique enough to earn a patent. On top of all this innovation, there's the appealingly futuristic look. The neon colors and sleek styling mean you'll not only be ticking the hours off in a new way, you'll be doing it with a watch that doubles as a statement-making accessory. Get it here!
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://blog.ideeli.com/todays-features/2010/3/17/pick-of-the-day-melissa.html"><rss:title>Pick of the Day, Melissa</rss:title><rss:link>http://blog.ideeli.com/todays-features/2010/3/17/pick-of-the-day-melissa.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Melissa Shoes Shop & Tell ideeli pick of the day</dc:subject>
There's something genius about these plastic ballet flats by Melissa. Then again, everything the legendary Brazilian label makes is pretty much genius—and it's all in their signature, unmistakable plastic—including their collaborations with design stars like Vivienne Westwood and Alexandre Herchcovitch. A winking, trompe l'oeil take-off on Chanel's classic cap-toe flat, Melissa's version has a flirty PVC bow to top it all off. But the real clincher is the plastic itself, which renders what could be a straitlaced style into something supremely fun and irreverent. And they're comfortable to boot—we're sure your feet will thank you for the chance to prance around in these charmers. Get it here!
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://blog.ideeli.com/todays-features/2010/3/16/pick-of-the-day-calvin-klein.html"><rss:title>Pick of the Day, Calvin Klein</rss:title><rss:link>http://blog.ideeli.com/todays-features/2010/3/16/pick-of-the-day-calvin-klein.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Calvin Klein Shop & Tell cotton bunch neck dress ideeli pick of the day</dc:subject>
Sci-fi, digital prints are major for Spring, and Calvin Klein is delivering in spades with its ingeniously pixilated, totally charming sleeveless shift. A series of abstract squares in rich purples and oranges, this graphic has punch without being overpowering. The gorgeous pleated detailing around the neckline lends it an understated elegance, while the length keeps it flirty and fun. Having been the head designer for heavyweights including Giorgio Armani and DKNY, Russo has brought oodles of accessories experience to Elliott Lucca since starting there in 2007. Originally inspired by Balinese hand-woven sleeping mats when the company was founded in the 80s, Elliott Lucca is still known for their beautifully woven leathers. More recently, the brand's coveted drawstring bags have been getting lots of love from fashion mags and celebs alike. Now, ideeli's getting the scoop on what's in Russo's bag, how to work fringe, and more...

If there's such a thing as an understated ruffle, Chaiken has nailed it with this dress. Two softly falling ruffled layers, both front and back, have a slouchy sophistication, as if to say, yes, we're ruffles, but we don't need to shout about it. And there's a lot more to love here. Spaghetti straps always seem to have a way of flattering every shape. And this deep plum color is so rich, and yet it would work for a summer wedding or a very civilized night out any day of the year. Simply put, this is a dress that would do the work for you, and all you'd have to do is soak up the glory. Get it here!
</rss:item></rdf:RDF>
