Juicing for Sunburn Relief

Over the long Memorial Day weekend, we couldn’t help but take advantage of the warm sunshine. And it shows because many of us came into the office on Tuesday sporting the first sunburn of the season … ouch!

While searching for home remedies to alleviate the pain, we came across this surprising tip: Drinking 4 oz. of freshly squeezed carrot juice can actually help heal sunburn faster and take away the pain. That’s because the veggie is packed with beta-carotene, an antioxidant that is known to ease skin inflammation caused by the sun’s UV rays. Even better, according to a study by the European Food Information Council, drinking that same amount of carrot juice per day for 10 weeks can increase the skin’s immunity against the sun to prevent future sunburns from occurring.

How to Wrap a Von Vonni Transformer Dress

When it comes to wrapping our favorite convertible dress, the possibilities are limitless! To narrow down our options to the most flattering shapes, we asked ideeli stylist Jenna Michael how she styles the Von Vonni transformer dresses for our photo shoots. Her bottom line? Keep it simple!

Jenna suggests starting with a halter top shape. Simply pull the two straps behind your neck, creating a halter neck and tie them in a knot or a bow. Ta-da! Once you master that, Jenna says, you can take the straps from behind your neck and instead of knotting them, twist them down to your back, pulling the them around your waist to the front and tying them. Adorable!

Jenna's second suggestion is to wear the transformer gown as a short-sleeve maxi (or mini!) Start by taking both straps, one at a time, and pulling each one over your shoulder, creating a short sleeve. Criss-cross them in the back and pull them around your waist to the front of the dress and tie them.
