Oscar de la Renta is known for creating clothes to fall in love with. The designer debuted his Resort 2010 collection yesterday in NYC and like always we were smitten.
Sticking to a nautically color palette of mostly white and navy with highlights in brights, like red and coral, de la Renta used textures and layers with tweed suit separates paired off with chiffon and silk. The course-ness of the tweed alongside the sexy flouncy silk resulted in a sweet yet sophisticated look.
A dominant theme throughout the show, was the upcoming new trend, the collarless suit jacket. Satin caftans with delicate brushstroke prints were also added to the mix.
De la Renta is a long time veteran in the fashion world who has successfully withstood the test of time with his niche, as he said after the show, to continuously "make clothes women fall in love with," season after season. And they follow suit.
