If you're pear
You are smaller on the top and larger on the bottom.
Swimsuit to try: A two-piece with intricate details on the top (like fringe or ruffles) and a solid bottom (avoid boy shorts since they can accentuate the asset you are trying to diminish), or a one-piece with an extreme V-neck. These suits draw the eye upward and balance out your proportions.
If you're hourglass
You are small-waisted with a fuller bust and hips.
Swimsuit to try: Lucky for you, you can go for pretty much anything! Since hour glass body shapes are naturally proportional, all you have to do is look for swimsuits that are proportioned as well—aka if you choose florals, choose both a floral top and bottom.
If you're apple
You are rounder at the middle.
Swimsuit to try: A high-cut one piece to show off your gams, with a bandeau style top. Suits with any ruching are especially flattering.
If you're ruler
You are more rectangular, with a top, hips and bottom that are all virtually the same width.
Swimsuit to try: Anything that helps create the illusion of curves—like a fringed bandeau and low-rise bottoms.
