The Postmarks is a sophisticated indie pop band known for well crafted lavish tunes that border on being cinematic. If you are lucky enough to live in Florida, you can see their next performance with Peter Bjorn & John at The Social. We sat down with their lead singer recently, a girl named Tim, whose dream shopping spree includes picking up a new Moog synth NOT a pair of Louboutins.
You are the singer of my new favorite band, The Postmarks. What is your name and where are you from? Tim Yehezkely, I was born in Tel Aviv, Israel; grew up in Bristol, Connecticut; I currently live in South Florida.
Tell us about The Postmarks- how did it all start? I met Jon at an open mic night. He invited me to play at a local show where I met Chris, who was already good friends with Jon. We all had the same passion for music and similar influences. Not long after, we decided to start a project together. That project turned into The Postmarks!
So Christopher Moll and Jonathan Wilkins play multiple instruments and you are and chanteuse. If you had to sum up the music how would you describe it? Sexy, cinematic pop.
What do you find inspiring? Traveling, nature, love.
Describe your personal style: Casual or shabby chic
Ha, Me too. Top ten tunes on your play list? And if you don't mind, we are adding a couple of your band's tunes at the end of your list:
Most treasured item in your closet: Antique Hohner III accordion
Awesome, what item do you covet? New Moog synthesizer
Who are your musical heroes? Beck and Yann Tiersen
Fashion heros? Bjork
I saw her in NYC about two years ago at the Reverend Ike's Babylonian Love Factory Church, her costumes were spectacular... and I love a good swan dress once in awhile. What is your favorite fashion period? ‘60s mod

The Postmarks next release is titled, Memoirs At The End Of The World and drops on 8/25. It will be available in stores and on iTunes.
