Become A Recession Proof Bottle Blonde

CategoryStyle & People

Gisele is shown above at the launch of her flip flop collection in Madrid Spain on April 22, 2009

The other day I looked in the mirror at my Barbie blonde locks and carefully inspected my roots as I do every four weeks before I call my stylist at Spanish Fly Hair Garage. I thought to myself, what could I be doing with the money saved from obsessing over these platinum blonde highlights?

Then, the light bulb turned on. Brilliance! I booked the earliest appointment with one thing in mind: my roots. I went for the baliage color technique and pulled my natural medium blonde hair color through to the ends. My hair took on a more fashion forward look and made me realize that I've got a great head of hair! Here is a bonus tip, this works beautifully on chestnut, otherwise known as plain Jane brown hair too.

It’s been over my usual four weeks now and I still love the color! My next appointment is scheduled for eight weeks from my last and I plan to get a quick trim and touch-up.

Many celebrities are taking to this trend like Whitney Port, Gisele Bundchen, and Jessica Alba. This sun-kissed bohemian-chic look will take you into the summer and gracefully to fall.  So, embrace your roots and save some dough!
