This chandelier proves that one man's trash, is another man's, or in this case, President Obama's treasure. The above light fixture which proudly hangs in the Barack Obama Whitehouse was made by a group of African artists using discarded plastic and metal. This unique hanging ornament was selected by the president's personal interior designer Michael Smith from the One of a Kind Anthropologie Gallery at New York's Rockefeller Centre. The chandelier which is a part of a pair, cost $8,800 and we think it is spot on beautiful.

Go them! It's cute and eclectic and fun! A far cry from all the staunch, boring, classic "Americana" crap that the White House normally gets. I mean, okay I know it's the White House and therefore the staple of Americana, but it's fun to mix it up every now and then. :)
