Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards

The snow storm yesterday did not stop the Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards from taking place last night at the W New York, Tuscany.  Over 200 industry insiders attended the event while another 300 people watched the party streaming live online. The event staged by Style Coalition and ideeli honored fashion designers and brands for outstanding social media activity with Burberry winning the top award, Best Innovator.  We will post additional award results and photos later today.

ideeli and Godiva Warm Up NYC

Deliciousness ruled last night at the party ideeli hosted to launch Godiva’s four new liqueurs. Hundreds of guests, many of them ideeli members,came out to a loft in Soho to sample Godiva’s creamy new flavors, get makeovers from POP Beauty’s experts, and generally just get down. Encouraged by DJ Mia Moretti and her amazing accomplice Caitlin Moe--who played an electrified fiddle (to tunes like MGMT’s Kids) like her life depended on it--the intrepid crowd partied while ignoring the impending blizzard. There were even some star sightings Real Housewife of NYC Kelly Bensimon, in all her Amazonian glory, stopped by (watch out for her on the cover of March Playboy), along with Erin Lucas, one of the super-cute girls from The City. One of our favorite blogs is not by a style rookie, mother, or large publisher. It is by one of the world's most respected design houses, Dolce and Gabbana. Swide was launched in 2008.The blog is funny and includes content outside of D & G's branding universe like their recent post on  Anna dello Russo or a story on puppy tweets. Video Of The Day, Birds Of A "Fether"

It is hardly a head scratcher why the video, Birds of a Fether by Erin Fetherston, was nominated for best video of 2009 by the Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards. The side streets of NYC provide the perfect canvas for Fetherston's collection in this dreamy back and white short.
