NYFW, Tracy Reese

We consider Tracy Reese the queen of wearable dresses, but we have to admit her show yesterday left us feeling disappointed.  The silhouettes she presented were not very fresh (no more bubble hems please) , and a majority of her prints was ho - hum.  Here are two contrasting looks from her show. Tell us your thoughts.

NYFW, Alice + Olivia Photo Diary

Our favorite show so far during New York Fashion Week is Alice + Olivia - partly because it was fueled by chocolate martinis and one of our favorite bands the Plastiscines. Alice + Olivia's designer Stacey Bendet presented a sweet and sassy collection of wearable dresses, jackets, pants, and blouses that we can't wait to fill our closet with this spring. Here is a round up of photos that include some of our favorite moments from the show that took place Saturday night in the Meatpacking District.

We love Mena Suvari's tattoo.. and like some of us regular folks.. she has a little back-nee (acne).

NYFW, Christian Siriano

Christian Siriano is making sure thrifty women can wear his shoes with his line for Payless,  but he may not have had the masses in mind with the collection he showed this past Saturday during New York Fashion Week. Is the line beautiful? Yes. Do I see myself wearing anything? Perhaps not but I could see The First Lady in one of his dresses. Siriano is definitely going after a very refined customer- think ladies who lunch, or do battle in the boardroom, who are searching for a fresh twist on classic dressing. We think Victoria Beckham would approve.

NYFW: Academy Of Art University

Efff Project Runway! The students that showed yesterday from The Academy Of Art University blew every contestant's work on the former Bravo show away. While each student was a standout, we adored Designer Marina Nikolaeva Popska's color sense ( see above),  and Designer Jie Pan impressed us with her collection of edgy but very wearable 80's inspired dresses (below). Fantastic work ladies. We look forward to following your careers.

NYFW, Lacoste

We want you to decide which looks will fly or die for the upcoming Spring season.  Here are two looks from the Lacoste show yesterday. Head scarves, pleated front denim? Do these looks pass go, or no?
