Editor's Pick: Cargo Cosmetics

You’ve got your routine down pat: a swipe of pink gloss and mascara for the office, and a dark cat eye on the weekend. But with spring just around the corner, maybe it’s time for a little refresh courtesy of the lovely makeup mavens at Cargo Cosmetics. With a nearly endless spectrum of colors, this standout selection hits on all of the season’s latest and greatest trends. And since this cult-loved brand thinks of everything, they’ve even assembled a series of kits that make getting your new look—from smoky eyes to a pouty lip—pretty much foolproof. Here are our three favorites:
The Metallico Chain Bag: A metallic smoky eye is the ultimate accessory come nightfall. And this stunning roundup has everything you need to make your big-night-out look a memorable one (including a rockerish chain clutch). The silvery Eye Shadow Single, black Waterproof Eye Pencil, Glitter Top Coat eyeliner, and mile-long lashes courtesy of LashActivator amp up the drama, while the berry-stained Madrid gloss adds a subtle finish.
The Mini Voyages Make-up Kit: Airport-bound? Well, this is the trusty kit you’ll want in your carry on. Nestled in an adorable postage stamp-themed clutch, the Water-resistant Bronzer instantly brightens dull-looking skin, while the Better-Than-Waterproof Mascara makes those tired eyes really pop.
Los Angeles Eye Shadow Palette: Channel the deep blue sea with the spectrum of creamy colors in this eye shadow quad. From rich cobalt to bright turquoise, these blues can pack a punch either layered together or worn on their own.

ideeli Prom Memories

"Who are you taking to prom?" "What are you wearing?""She has my dress!" "Should his tux match my gown?" "Are we renting a limo?" File these under #promproblems.
With high schoolers' biggest night right around the corner, we're reminiscing on the highs, lows, and of course, the fashion (if you can call it that) of our own prom nights. All the drama aside, it remains one of the most memorable nights of those pesky teenage years. Here at ideeli, we've got a little bit of everything--a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal (more the rebel types, but we had to quote The Breakfast Club if we're talking high school.) Here are some of our coworkers' prom pics...and the stories that go with them!

Alex Avila: "I met my prom date at Sunday SAT Kaplan classes. We were study buddies." We say, that's a likely story! ;)

Missy Murabito: "Life before I looked like a hipster boy."

Jen Yassen got red-carpet ready for her Hollywood-themed prom in 2003.

Jason Faria: "We did have to dodge the large group of guys roaming the dance floor doing their 'Night at the Roxbury' impersonations. It was big at the time, what can I say."

Are you or someone you know headed to their prom? Make sure and check out today's Prom Prep sale for complete looks meant for merrymaking.

inside ideeli: Office Style

"When I wake up in the morning and the alarm gives out a warning I don't think I'll ever make it on time."

It's funny, no matter how many years we're out of high school, that first line of the Saved by the Bell theme song still rings true. On those manic Mondays when there's a company-wide meeting, or Fridays when your Thursday night cocktails turned into a late-night party, getting dressed for work is the equivalent of climbing Kilimanjaro. Cue #JessieSpano moment.

This is why we love that just showing up at ideeli HQ provides outfit inspiration in droves. Between models parading on the 6th floor in the latest and greatest ideeli threads, to the buyers up on the 10th that are rocking the trends they spot when they're out in market, we've got living, breathing examples of what dressing for the job looks like! So when it came time to cast our career style sales, it only made sense to turn to the ideelists we know and love-- who turn our halls into their own personal catwalk.

FOR THE TRENDSETTER: Peplum was huge on the runway for Spring 2012. While designers were showing them in light, pastel colors, this gunmetal number is the perfect translation for a 9-to-5 look that's also on point for happy hour.

FOR THE PREP: Shirtdresses are an office staple that often get a bad rap for being drab and boring. This ladylike '50s silhouette is anything but. Pops of blue make it the ideal spring wear-to-work frock.

FOR THE VINTAGE LOVER: It's no secret how much we love our white button-downs. Be it with old blue jeans and boots for Casual Fridays to tucked into a pencil skirt, it really is a classic. But this ultra-mod Mondrian print blouse is the perfect update to a classic shape. We're thinking it would look rad tucked into some ultra-indigo wide-leg jeans.

FOR THE CREATIVE GUY: We're not going to lie. We're pretty lucky to work with some fine-looking gents. And in an ultra-creative industry they don't always have to dress so corporate. This chunky sweater is perfect for guys who like to clean up nice and be taken seriously, without pulling out their 3-piece suits.

These are just a few of our fave picks from today's inside ideeli: Office Style sales. Snag these and much more in the men's and women's sales and keep an eye out for more inside ideeli fun really soon!

Editor's Pick: NUE by Shani

Here at ideeli, we love a juicy fashion secret. The leopard print nail art we occasionally sport? Peel-offs. That tawny "just back from Barbados" glow? Trusty NARS bronzer. The perfect white tee? mens' Hanes, size Medium. And now, we've discovered an insider find that is just too good not to share with the class.

To the naked eye, NUE by Shani dresses look like fabulous frocks that fit right in with the rest of your arsenal. But in reality, these are your secret weapon. Each impeccable style comes equipped with shapewear built INTO the dress.

Yes, you read right. No more squeezing into skivvies that resemble chastity belts to achieve the smooth lines you crave. No more unsightly bulges when you sit, bend, or simply breathe wrong. Shani Grosz, Parsons grad and respected industry vet, created this line with real women in mind. She's married her years of time-tested design know-how with modern technology and fabrics that smooth you out, without the extra hassle. We have enough to worry about, being domestic goddesses, strutting on the glass ceiling, peppered with the occasional girls' night out, to be worried about layering on 7 different pieces under our fave frocks.

That's why we love this Grecian-inspired NUE number. Expertly draped, a bejeweled waist that nips your curves just so, and the signature shaping lining make this the kind of dress we can see ourselves playing Aphrodite in. Throw some gold bangles and a sky-high strappy sandal in the mix and you'll need Herculean strength to fight off the fans. The best part is, everything you need to feel great--and look better--is right in the dress.

Secrets, secrets, are no fun, unless they're shared with everyone. And this is one game-changing fashion gem we simply can't keep to ourselves.

Celeb Style: Olivia Wilde

When we need a wardrobe pick-me-up, nothing quite does it like street style pics of our favorite celebs. But what's a fashionista to do to achieve these looks--on a budget? It was this question that spurred us to create our Celeb Style series, where we source pieces to match those worn by the style stars you love. Look for these sales twice every month, and you'll find the covetable looks you've spotted on fashion's elite--at the super-privileged ideeli prices you know and love.

Some of our fave celebs got their start on a little show that turned teen angst, wealthy suburbia, and emo anthems into our high school bread and butter. Don't be ashamed, we know you were just as obsessed with The O.C. as we were. And while the Seth vs. Ryan debate is still TBD, we've got to say, one of our fave breakout leading ladies is none other than the star of today's Celeb Style sale-- Olivia Wilde. The green-eyed stunner played Marisa's super scandalous bisexual love interest, and from her acting chops to her gorgeous smile, we knew we'd be seeing her again. And did we! Olivia has since been spotted in Tron, Year One, The Change-Up, and most notably, as a total braniac on House M.D.

But it's the up-and-comer's red carpet prowess we're really loving these days. She's gone Grecian, carries a ball gown like no other, and made a statement in a skin-tight red number recently (check out our Olivia-inspired board on Pinterest) she also knows that the key to looking like a lady is infusing classic pieces like a silk shirtdress and a tweed car coat with edgy touches like sky-high studded sandals and a party girl clutch. She's genetically blessed, it's true, but her elevated girl-next-door look is totally doable.
